actually this is problematic; if you set the X-Y origin to a bottom (left or right) point you zero off the end of the material (or as far as you want the cuts to go) which ensures you have enough material, especially if, like me, you set the rotary motor AND chuck BEYOND the physical max-Y range of the machine so that it is LITERALLY impossible for the cutter to reach the rotary axis motor (one less thing to worry about)

that way less rotation, more travel along the Y, should be faster (tho i haven't measured this yet)

this is how the X axis motion is translated into A axis rotation

to make this easier set your material size proud and accept a longer roughing cut that might be cutting air for a while

not needed if you know the mid-axis X value and set the Y=0 to a bottom corner

again, not needed if you zero of a lower corner
