Who am I?
UC Davis graduate (1994; Computer Science and Engineering), currently-retired software engineer (30 years doing C++ and then Java; formerly Morgan Stanley, Amazon, Audience Science, and Smartsheet, among others).
For the past 8 years I've been casually woodturning bowls, rolling-pins, drop-spindles, scoops, boxes, and various other items. I even sell some of them thru local fiber-artist stores and our Etsy store. I also do "flat-work": the covered deck on our house and my wife's glasswork studio in particular but also bits of furniture, improvements around the house, and such.
Lately I've also been focusing on CNC work (fusing mold models, laminated plastic plant tags, hexagonal or precisely laid-out Glassybaby bases, precisely-sized drop-spindle whorl holes, etc) in wood, MDF, and various plastics.
And lastly (since retiring 2 years ago), I've focused on yard work (ours, the median in front of our house, and the water detention pond at the bottom of our hill).
