McAfee Anti-Virus findings created this wiki to record how to disable the McAfee feature-ad pop-ups that don't seem to support being disabled. these aren't web-browser pop-ups but desktop pop-ups; in this case on my Windows-11 box, to push new McAfee products on a daily, if not more frequent, basis. to disable them go to Services and find “McAfee WebAdvisor” and stop it; and to keep it from coming back change the startup option from Automatic to Manual so that it won't come back the next time you restart your computer. so far this seems to have solved the problem.
